Scope and Career Prospects of BCA


The BCA course mainly embraces subjects like web scripting and development, database, data structure, networking, software engineering, core programming languages, etc. Pursuing BCA opens opportunities for aspirants who are willing to do something in the field of computer science and information technology.  The curriculum of the course is somewhat identical to B.Tech degree in Computer Science and Information Technology. One question that spins the mind of every graduate is ‘What Next’? Private Companies

As the IT industry is growing day-by-day, the need of students having mastery in Computer Application is also rising with every passing day. Graduates having BCA degree have great career prospects in both private and government sector. Students can choose between various job profiles like:

·         System Engineer: People, who develop, test and evaluate circuits, software, and personal computer systems.
·         Web Developer: A Web Developer plays the role of a programmer who has specialization in developing www applications. The major role that is assigned to a web developer is to build and maintain sites. People who wish to be in the field must have mastery in CSS, PHP, HTML/XHTML, JavaScript, etc. Aspirants having great skills as a web developer can find a lot of jobs in web designing companies or even in online digital marketing companies.
·         Programmer: After doing BCA, you can also perform the role of a programmer that is to write codes for software.  To do so, you have to know computer languages like C, C++, C#, COBOL, Assembly, Lisp, Java, Python, etc.
·         Software Developer: A software developer is expected to develop software without any bugs that can ease the tasks of people. The software must be working efficiently.

Higher Studies

After successful completion of BCA, students can opt for higher education and pursue MCA or MBA. Doing so will help students dwell deeper in the field as well as get ready to come through the flying colors in today’s competitive market.

If you are still planning to pursue BCA, then you are advised to pursue the course from a recognized University or College. However, the admission criteria may vary. Some institutes consider admission on the basis of 10+2 marks, whereas some want students to appear from entrance exams as well as personal interviews. Apart from that, some universities do conduct their own entrance test as an admission process to BCA.
